Nutrition, Mental Health and Wellbeing: New evidence for the direct link between mind and body, food and mood

Nutrition can influence the state of our mental wellbeing, including factors such as anxiety, depression, stress and sleep.  Diet is an important modifiable factor for optimum mental health and wellbeing.  Enhancing the gut microbiome has been linked to the reduction of anxiety and depression and helps people manage stress.
Prolonged periods of stress deplete the body of essential nutrients; stress can be reduced by food choices and the timing of meals.  The importance of sleep will also be discussed.
