Working Together to Build Resilience and Reduce Stress

6th Stress Awareness Week event in Taranto, Italy, with Dr Pier Michele Mandrillo, Dr Amedeo Cottino

This year’s event focuses on the repercussions of stress in the workplace, at a difficult time for the world and for the Italian economy. Questions will include: How can we help those coping with mental health problems in the workplace; How employers respond to stress and mental health problems; How stress management professionals can help relieve stress; How workplace changes, such as hybrid working, affect wellbeing and resilience levels; How those affected can access advice and support.

Dr Mandrillo is an ISMAUK Ambassador and a Lecturer at the Universities of Foggia, Chieti and Tor Vergata Rome

An online event with Simon Hawtrey-Woore, Outdoor Executive Coach

Presenting this talk from the heart of Epping Forest, Simon shares his experience and knowledge of how walking in nature can be used to help manage our stress and foster greater wellbeing.

Simon Hawtrey-Woore is an Outdoor Executive Coach and leads his life with a deep curiosity about people and experiences, a passion for open collaboration, a desire to keep things simple, and a love of the outdoors. Simon has a strong belief in the combination of powerful questioning and inspiring natural spaces to open up fresh perspectives and help create insights and clarity. He has 25 years’ marketing experience and has been a coach for16 years.

Organisational Culture, Wellbeing and Competitive Advantage

A panel discussion led by Carolina Caparros, Anna M Sells of Bienestar Hub, Spain

Bienestar Hub advise SMEs in Spain on health and wellbeing and the management and prevention of stress at work. In this panel discussion, general managers of companies who have successfully deployed actions and programmes to manage and prevent stress at work will debate key issues related to stress management, the measures they have taken, the results they are getting and how they measure them.

Anna M Sells is an HR and Organisational Psychologist and Co-founder, Bienestar Hub. She has spent 20 years helping family businesses find solutions to challenges. In 2005, inspired by her son, who has ADHD, she designed a child and youth development project, advising pedagogical teams in centres for 0-3 years. Anna also teaches at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, dealing with human complexity and the understanding of people.

 

Carolina Caparros is an organisational labour lawyer and Co-founder, Bienestar Hub. She is an employment lawyer at Garrigues, a corporate law firm, and has had HR and management roles in large multinationals. Her focus is on the prevention of psychosocial occupational risks and psychological wellbeing. She has over 20 years’ teaching experience and has been honorary coach and teacher at the University of Almeria since 2017.

Reducing Stress and Maintaining Wellbeing

A Living Balances Workshop with Nick Woodeson and Virginia Ellis

Stress is on the increase, and developing awareness of its causes & symptoms, together with taking preventative steps and remedial approaches is essential for living a balanced and purposeful life.

This special workshop being held during International Stress Awareness Week will include an informative talk, essential insights and techniques to reduce stress and prevent its more harmful consequences. We’ll be exploring key questions including: How does our human constitution handle stress? Why do the multiple pressures of living become stressful?
