Jane is an Honorary Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, with experience of senior healthcare management in the NHS. She is a Research Fellow in Public Leadership at the Open University Business School and a member of the Remuneration Board of the Welsh Assembly.

Jane was Leader of the Council at the London Borough of Camden, and has served in a range of non-executive roles, including as Chair of the Councillors’ Commission for the Department of Communities and Local Government and as Chair of New Local Government Network. She has published academic articles on paediatrics, psychiatry and politics, has co-edited The Politics of Attachment, and is the author of Losing Political Office.
